Mr Brewin’s Y11 – Transforming Graphs

Here’s the link to the original post from the lesson on Transforming Trig Functions.

A powerpoint on transforming general functions and curve-sketching (taken from C1 AS work, but still relevant) is here; another one to look through for revision is this one on functions and graphs too.

I’m finding it really hard to remember these..
(and pretty much anything that has a set of rules to it.. like surds.. or times tables when I was smaller) are there any particular ways to remember them, or do I just have to stop being lazy and remember them as they are?
    Thanks..
    Grace

With the trig graphs, either learn the rules, or work it out from first principles by plugging known values in. You’ll still need to learn the basics though like where the functions are zero or have their max and min values.

    Is that any help?

I was just looking for a way to cheat and remember them.. Its just becasue I’m lazy and always slip up on questions which have a certain set of rules which you have to remember and then follow..
    thanks mrs tibble anyway!

also.. how pretty are the little colourful pictures which have appeared since I was last on here!
    adorable!!

Yup, you’re going to have to remember them! And I’m pleading not guilty to the crazy squares!

The pretty colours only appeared yesterday – no idea how or where from! 8-)
