i think u gave us the wrong page number for the last h/w set because on the page u gave us there are only questions up to 3 for each exercise.
You sure you wrote it down correctly?
Check with people tomorrow please – I’m at a meeting with the BBC, so won’t be in…
okai. . but you did say page 80 for the homework book. everyone got the same page so people are confused. . :S
hi
on page 25 of the homework book exercise 5L i dnt understand wot to do for question 1.
OK. Sorry – haven’t got the homework book at home at the moment. JT – any chance you’ve got one?!
Yes – of course!
Simultaneous equations:
6x + 5y = 23
5x + 3y = 18
Over to you
Ok Rachel – so you need to get either the y’s the same, or the x’s…
I’ll go for y’s the same, so I’m going to times the first equation all by 3, and the second one all by 5. That’ll give me:
18x + 15y = 69
25x + 15y = 90
Now you’ve got y’s the same it should be a bit more familiar…
Y’s that then?
is that the same for all of them? having to make either the y’s or x’s the same?
yes
thank you
oh and also for the second question i got 12x = 86?
errrr………….. how?
OK – we’ll go over it tomorrow. Well done for trying!
how do u find out the mean amount spent for grouped data?? page 250 11D q3 a ii. and b ii
=]
Find the midpoint of each group. Then multiply freq by midpoint. Add up this column, and divide by total freq.
OK?
Download the notes / powerpoint here: http://www.shsmaths.com/2009/02/26/mr-brewins-year-10-averages/
i tihnk so. . is the collumn i have to add up the one where i multiply freq by midpoint?
okay thanks
Yup.
