to me that just sounds like gobbldy goop! :S
I know that about 1,000,000 people are stuck on this homework, so it looks like we will spend a long time on it tomorrow.... :)
Thank you anyway, Mrs Tibble! :)

Hi Nina,

You need to keep substituting in the values from the graph and then solve what's left of the equation.
Equation is
h = at^2 + bt + c

Part (a) from graph, when t=0, h=0 as well. Put 0 into the eqn for t and h and you'll get 0=c, therefore c=0
This means equation only has 2 terms because you can drop c.
When t=5 on graph, h=0 again. Plug that into the equation. That will give you an equation that you can't solve because it has both a and b in it.
Do the same with t=1 now, getting the h value off the graph.
Now you'll have a pair of simultaneous equations which you can solve to get a and b.

Have fun ;-)

I am very sorry, but i cannot do Q4 of the maths homework. I have done Q5 - but i do not understand how to work out Q4 at all! :(
I have left a note on the maths blog, but nobody has been online and no-one seems to be onine/have their phone on so no-one could explain it to me! :(
