I am stuck on question 3, Exercise 6F, page 132. I don’t get the y≤1/2x bit
. Can somebody help me pleeeeease?
Hi Sophie,
What does the line y = 0.5x look like? If you aren’t sure, then choose some x values, use the equation to work out the y value, then plot the points.
For the inequality, y < or = 0.5x so you need to be below the line.

sort of… for the line y=0.5x, does the line go through 0.5 or is that the gradient? thanks.
Sophie, 0.5 is the gradient! Put values in: if x = 0, then y = 0.5 x 0 which = 0, so the line goes through the origin.
