I really need help on the homework you gave!!!
i dont understand
Hmmmm… maybe next year…
thanks mrs tibble.
i had a bit of trouble with the three three four maths question so i got a bit of help (not the whole thing) from the internet. is that ok or do i get detention
Thank you Mrs Tibble
Kate, not a problem – so long as you understand what you found. Shows initiative when you try to solve something you’re stuck with!
Hannah, what kind of help do you need? You haven’t been very specific about what exactly you don’t understand. Come and talk to me tomorrow.
Monique – panic attacks over maths homework are not allowed LOL See me in school tomorrow.
Connie – I know 2+2=4
Seriously, the key to finding a solution is to spot where the letters are the same (and therefore the numbers have to be too) and to work out what F must be.
My Dad was getting really annoyed with himself that he couldn’t get no. 2. I could only do no. 1
Lol Millie!
Well done for working out number 1
Tell your Dad he can have a jelly baby if he cracks number 2
JT

i dont understand the maths homework about the code cracker me and my dad are sure that each number has to be multiplied by a different number each time. is it 1 digit numbers or several. alice
please help mrs tibbles
hi Mrs Tibble I need help on my homework, i know about the letters but i’m not sure what to do next please
don’t understand code cracker please can you help
i have done the homework! it was really hard though!
Hi Alice and Kathryn,
Write out the alphabet and number the letters 1 to 26 in the usual order. To put my message into code, I multiplied the position number of each letter by the SAME prime. So all those numbers are multiples of the same prime number.
Work out what my prime is, then divide each number by that so that you can find out the number for each letter of the message.
The clue is in the smallest numbers because they must be my prime x a small number.
Good luck!
JT
is anyone else on?
Well done Josephine
Using a calculator helps!
yes i no and my dad helped me to!
sorry got to go have supper now
please help I am really stuck on maths homework
Kathryn,
I have already replied to you. Have you read it? (5 posts up)
JT
Yes I have seen it – thank you – still working on it
Mrs Tibble – I have got it – you clue worked along my Mum’s help!
Hi I just wanted to check but is the prime number above or below 10?
Hi Vina,
There are no numbers less than 10 in the coded message which is a bit of a clue. Remember that if there is an A or a B in my message, my prime will have only been multiplied by 1 or 2 so that should really help you.
JT
Well done Kathryn (and Mum!!)
thank you
hi everyone just finished the homework yes
hi mon
Hi, Kira
Hi Mrs Tibble
kira can you give me a small hint please?
Or anyone?
ask mon
Hi Vina,
the prime number is between 20 and 26
Does that help
ok but everytime i try and divide the number by my prime i always get a decimal number
well done mon good girl
Vina,
Look through the coded message and find the smallest number. Is it prime? If it is you’ve found the prime and it has been multiplied by 1. If it isn’t prime then one of its factors must be the prime you want.
JT
really?
Ohhh
thank you
