i mean any
Emily and Ella,
The table is called a possibility space (that’s what we did in today’s lesson, and it is in your notes if you read them!)
They have even started it off to show you what to do – you just have to complete it.
JT
oh, thank you
MRS TIBBLE
Oh i just saw it THANK YOU
I still dont get it
Emily, what is there not to get? They have started the table for you showing the possible combinations of counters. You just have to finish it. eg if you get a white counter from the first bag and a white counter from the 2nd bag, you’ll have 2 white counters – which they have shown by drawing 2 white circles.
In Q2 you are combining heads or tails from the coin, with 1 to 6 on the dice. Put all the possible combinations into the table – again it has been started for you. It really is extremely easy and very similar to what we did in class when we looked at all the results you can get when you toss 2 coins.
hi,
I really don tget number 16 on pg 60.
Can you help me?
Hello
I really don’t get number 15 on p 60!
Could you help please?
Hi Kasia,
The 9 and 33 are both multiples of 3.
The 8 and 44 are both multiples of 4.
Does that help?
If not, ask your sister!
JT
Hi Alice,
Do 16 using hints above then go back to 15.
JT
I tried it (q 15) but i got a top heavy fraction…
Is that good?
No Alice,
A fraction of a fraction can’t end up top heavy.
When you cancelled, what did you get?
JT
thx for the help
I cancelled 21 as 7 (in the 3x table) and the 22 as 2 in the 11x table
Ok i’ll just leave it out then.
Alice – don’t forget to cancel top and bottom, not just one of them. You need to divide the 27 by 3 as well. and the 11 by 11.
Would q 16 be 2/3?
^ I did that already and i’m STILL stuck
Q16 yes
Q15 you should end up with 7×1 on top and 2×9 on the bottom – which is not top heavy!
Mrs Tibble,
Our h/w was pg 61 ex 3 and I don’t know what book we were meant to do it in because I have my pink book and I looked at pg 61 and there was no ex 3?
Thank you
Ella
Ella,
It’s page 60 exercise 4b start at question 13, stop at 24. It’s multiplying fractions, the same as we were doing in the lesson.
Bye bye Mrs. Tibble,
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
P.S.
Every one else good luck in your
maths exam!
Goodbye Ella. Hope you’ll enjoy living in Bournemouth – it’s where Mrs Walker used to live! We’ll think of you in maths. Hope you will be very happy in your new school. Keep in touch with us.
Best wishes from Mrs Tibble.

Happy new year Mrs Tibble
I cannot get the mock exams off the maths blog can you possibly send me a word document?
Thank you Yasmine
Hi Yasmine,
There seems to be a problem that even Mr B can’t sort
I can’t access it either – sorry.
Use the KS3 revision link if you are looking for things to do.
JT
Yasmine,
I’ve put a mock exam on the revision page for you. Hope it helps.
Mr Williams
And, should have said, I’ve done the same for year 7 through to year 10.
Hello,
I can’t find out how to turn a fraction into a decimal. I understand how to turn a fraction into a decimal if the denominator is 1000,100 or 10 but with other numbers i can’t.
Help me please.
Hi Kasia,
Write the fraction as a division sum:
eg 3/8 means 3 divided by 8
so do 8 into 3.000(or as many noughts as you need to hang the carry figures onto)
Does that help? Come back with the answer so I know you’ve been able to do it.
JT

Thank you for the help
I think the answer is 0.375. Is that correct?
Kasia,
Yes, it is – well done
JT
i need a good revision website!

Are we having our maths exam tomorrow? Thanks !
Yes
Mrs Tibble…i forgot my maths textbook in my locker… sorry
Mrs Tibble, i’m really stuck on the maths hw :/
How do you work out the circumference of a circle?
Actually it’s ok i found out how to do it
Alice – look in your notes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On 4B they ask you to work out the area of a circle, and the radius is 12cm. Do i do the same sum as before (a = pi r2) or just one radius?
Ok never mind I’ve done it
Sorry for asking you questions and then finding out how to do them :S
Alice, try using your notes and looking at the examples we worked out in the lesson. They are there for you to refer to when you are stuck!!
Hi
You told us in the lesson that we had to measure the cereal box & you said something about 3/4 different measurement. How many different measurements do we have to do then? Also how do we do the measurements? Thanks
Hi Anastasia,
A cereal box is a cuboid, so you need its length, width and height. Use a ruler or a tape measure!!
JT
OK thanks! What about a tin? Oh what I look at my notes
That’s what they are there for!!!
