    Okay thank you :)

    Hello again

Do we have to do interpolation on the maths exam?

    Aha random question sorry :)

  • Mrs Tibble

That’s a big word Alice lol!!

When you use your line of best fit on a scatter graph to predict values, that is interpolating. You know how to do that.

You seem to be doing a lot of maths revision – good luck!

    Oh okay thank you :)

    I got a bit scared!

    Hello

    What’s a conversion graph?

  • Mrs Tibble

    Hi Alice,
    It’s a graph that converts things ;-)
Examples of conversion graphs would be changing temperatures from Celsius to Fahrenheit, or changing litres into gallons and vice versa. Have a look here for a speed conversion graph

    hi again!
    whats standered form?

  • Alice L

    hello

you know the calculator revision thing on the homepage, is it for everyone? and if so what do we need to revise on it?

  • Mrs Tibble

Alice – no, that’s for the GCSE girls. I’ve amended the title.

    Esme,
    Numbers written like 3 x 10^8
ie a number between 1 and 10 multiplied by a power of 10.
As a normal number this one above would be 300,000,000

Okay thank you so what do we actually need to revise?
    is it circles and stuff?

  • Mrs Tibble

    Hi Alice,
Revise everything we’ve done that you haven’t been tested on yet!
Yes, ‘circles and stuff’ is highly likely because you need a calculator for calculations involving pi.
Make sure you know how to round your answers properly when using a calculator.

    Thank you :)

Also, i’m really confused about working out bearings with a half circle protractor? Do you go with the smaller number and take it away from 360? :S

  • Mrs Tibble

Alice, mark on the diagram the angle you need the value of for the bearing (clockwise from north) and measure it directly if it’s less than 180 degrees. If it’s more than 180, measure the bit you don’t need, and take it from 360.

    Okay thank you again :P

  • Alice L

Also, could i possibly use one of your full circle protractors for the exam tomorrow?

  • Mrs Tibble

    Alice,
No because we don’t have enough for everyone so it wouldn’t be fair just to give you one.
Sorry but you have to be able to use your own. Exam papers are actually written assuming everyone will have a half circle one.

    Okay cool that’s fine :)

  • Catherine

I dont know how to do the maths homework im doing the white sheet and im not sure how to times mixed numbers

  • Mrs Tibble

    Hi Catherine,
Sorry, I’ve only just seen this.
You need to turn them both into top heavy fractions first, then multiply in the usual way.
    Hope that helps.

  • Nadia!!

Hi Mrs Tibble, just wanted to say, sorry in advance if I dont manage to do the homework set for tommorwow, becuase I’m doing a piano accompliment for 6th Form Celebrating Success, and by the time I get home, it will probably be very late… Anyway, there is still a slight chance that I will fit it in… Bye!
