no
xxxxxxxxxxxxx
I’ve got it i think!!
OOH spill the beans… I have to go to bed.. I’m going to work on it tomorrow, setting my alarm clock for 6
night
I odnt have my sketch book – i actually did the geography homework as i hardly ever do geography homework!
ooohhhhh! are we going to do our posters? I like posters!
My whole going to bed plan hasnt gone well…..
I will try again reletivly soon!
Nina
THIS MATHS HOMEWORK WAS OBVIOUSLY STUPID AS EVERYONE NEEDS HELP! I DONT EVEN WANT TO GO COMPING WITH 60 PEOPLE – ANYWAY WHY CANT THEY TAKE THEIR OWN TENTS! >:(
Night Night
Night Nina
I acctually think i understand now =D
Knew you’d love it! Sorry – been out and not around to help. Thanks Mrs T!
You’re not allowed a social life when you set too hard homework!! I’m teaching this topic to Year 13 tomorrow lol!
I overslept my alarm clock
can someone help me at school and i can hand it in to you at break ??? I won’t copy i promise
MR B – IF YOU HAVE A SOCIAL LIFE – DONT DEPRIVE US OF ONE!!!
For revision on translations do we just need to know about shifting the shape along or about vectors, which we did last year, Thanks
For revision on translations, do we just need to know about shifting the shape along or about vectors? Thanks
Grrr, it told me that i entered the wrong code so I did it again, and both the comments came up, I meant the second one, although there isn’t much difference… Merry Christmas
Hi Pia,
You need the vector to describe the translation.
How’s 8B coming along? Get your sister to help!!
JT
8B’s good, I’m revising at the moment, I ONLY HAVE 8 LINES LEFT
It’s taken ages and Katja tried to help but it didn’t work becuase she didn’t understand, i will try to get it in before 9 but atleast we are first on challenge A
I have done it all on pen and paper, computers are useless at this thing, i haven’t been using the strips i have just counted 8 letters up for EACH letter, it has taken me the best part of 3 days, with a lot of mistakes in between
but it is actually quite fun!!!
Well done, you star trooper!! I’ll look out for it appearing on the Challenge site
Hey – if she kills you, you’ll miss the exams anyway
)
Well… she has gone out to pick Katja up from school…
continue to monitor their…
progress
it sounds like something from Harry Potter!! For a French man he has a wide range of vocab!!
Now she is back I have to be working now, so can I have some help with physics, what is the amplitude of a wave?
It’s the maximum displacement from the undisturbed position.
In English, that means the distance from the top (or bottom) of the wave to the middle, or it’s half the distance between the extreme ends of the vibration.
Would a ciphertext in rows of 26 help?
JT
sorry for the late(ish) reply!! Thankyou that makes sense!!!
second part not so much, what do you mean by cipher text in rows of 26 ??? :S
ITS SNOWING!!!
Yes, I was going to go out but I’ve changed my mind. The cars are wheel-spinning outside my house!!
If the ciphertext is in rows of 26, you can do all the 1st letters from the same strip of paper, then move onto the 2nd etc. Might be too late now! I’ll send it to you anyway.
JT
Thanks
Can somebody help me please? I am stuck on question 2b page 247.
can anyone help on both q 2e and 2d on pg 247 im kinda stuck
thanks!!!
actually I am not stuck on 2b, I am stuck on 2d. sorry!!!
sophie have u done 2e??
i so plz explain
ok, i think this is right:
you take away x squared from both sides,
so now you have 4x – x sqaured – 3 = 0.
Then you add 7 to both sides,
so now you have 4 + 4x-x squared = 7
now you can look at the graph and look at 7 etc…. then i think x=1 or x=3
THANKXX
Hi Sophie,
In 2d, reaarange what you have to get -x-squared+4x-2=0
Add 6 to both sides to turn the -2 into 4
then find y=6 on graph.
Q2e is correct.
JT
I UNDERSTAND 2D NOW!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you Mrs Tibble!
2e anyone????? I’m not sure how to do it apart from adding 5 to get 2x^2 -8x +4 = 5 and then do you divide by 2 to get x^2 – 8x + 4 = 2.5… then what???
Pia, you can’t just divide 1 term by 2: you have to divide them all. Back to the drawing board – but you are thinking along the right lines.
ok… x^2 – 4x -2 = 0 ???
+6 x^2 – 4x + 4 = 6??
Pia, which question are we actually trying to do here? You seem to be talking about 2 different ones!
I am so thick sometimes… I still don’t get this but i am going to try again:
2x^2-8x-1=0
divided by 2
x^2-16x – 2 = 0
+6
x^2-16x+4= 6
then what x 4??
AAAGGGHHH!
If you divide everything by 2, you get
x^2 – 4x – 0.5 = 0
Take the first 2 terms to the other side so their signs change:
-0.5 = -x^2 + 4x
Add 4 to both sides, then the right hand side will match the equation of the graph.
Left hand side tells you what y value to use.
HAHA… Okay maybe not sometimes how about always
4.5=x^2+4x+4 WOW!!!!!
so I need to read 4.5
oops no!!! 3.5!!!
lol! Almost – left hand side is negative 0.5 so when you add 4 you don’t get 4.5.
Think you might be there now
