Mr Brewin’s Year 9 – Sine and Cosine Rules

Here’s the boards from the lesson today which may help with the questions on the homework:

Ex 22.2 qu 1 (a, c, e)
Ex 22.3 qu 1 (a, c, e) and 2

Addition Rule Trig for Year 13 A-Level

Hiya.

Here are those details about addition formulae that you were after.

This first page uses a demo that you’ll need to download. Its free. The areas of the grey squares and rectangles match up giving the identity for sin(A+B)

Mr Williams Year 13 lesson on trig graphs.

Here are the notes from the lesson.

year-13-lesson-on-trig-functions-19th-sept-2008

When producing a graph of say, y = cosec x remember that this is the same as y = 1/(sin x).  Use what you know about sin x to help you produce the graph of y = cosec x.

Hope you like the graphs!

Mr Brewin’s Y11 – Transforming Graphs

Here’s the link to the original post from the lesson on Transforming Trig Functions.

A powerpoint on transforming general functions and curve-sketching (taken from C1 AS work, but still relevant) is here; another one to look through for revision is this one on functions and graphs too.

Mr Brewin’s Y11 – Solution to Trig Questions

Here’s the link to the slides from today’s lesson going over the Trig exam questions.

And the experiment typography piece I mentioned is can be seen here. There’s a neat time-lapse video piece of it here and a brief outline of how it was done here too. Unfortunately, it’s in California (like we get enough sun here [...]

Mr Brewin’s Y12 – Trig Identities

It would be great if Talia and Marnie could have a read through of the slides on this before the next lesson. We’ll have another run through of the theory quickly then, and do some examples. Next lesson: Tuesday after school.

See you then!

Mr Brewin’s Y12 – Trig Functions

The slides from C2 Chapter 8 are here.

Trouble-shoot questions from Chapter 8, plus some exam qus tomorrow… we’re getting there!
